Student Leadership: Choir Council & Ambassadors
Student leadership is an integral part of any choral program. The development of our choral council will be vital in promoting the choir program, assisting the director, and serving the surrounding community.
Any SCHS choir student may serve on the choir council. Membership in the choir council is maintained by an active point system. Students who fall under the required point system can regain membership on the choir council simply by earning the required amount of points to remain active.
Only students who are active choir council members are eligible to run for the executive board at the end of the year. Elections for the freshman Vice-President will take place within the first few weeks of school. Executive board members are expected to attend all meetings and follow the terms of their contract to maintain active status. Executive board members who do not meet the terms of their contract can be replaced (by director appointment or emergency council election) at any time throughout the year.
Ambassadors (section leaders) are appointed positions who assist directors with in-class tasks, mentoring, and the outreach program.
